Arson in Nangloi: When Fire Becomes a Criminal Offence

An act of teiring set ablaze can be a punishable offense. Arson as per The Indian penal code: the intentional use of fire or an explosive substance to plant property in danger. These are taken seriously as they pose a serious risk to public safety and the infrastructure. I wish to clarify that I am not the investigating officer in these cases but had been investigating since Septembers 2022 when multiple criminal cases were registered with respect to burnt vehicles and buildings which are damaged or damaged public properties on the same level & as per orders of high court we had to investigate whether fire was an accident or done. The act may be also subject to applicable laws (secondary legislation) related to rioting, unlawful assembly or public disorder. Detectors go through statements, testimonies and forensic reports to work out the charges. The extent of arson in law shows why the Indian laws are harsh on any such fire related offences.
